Dendy poynts the way home for opposition. ================================================================================ Leon White on 02/03/2010 09:09:00 They made hard work of it though as they were outplayed for large periods of the first half by a confident Poynton Kings side. Much of their play was inspired by stand in skipper Alistair Breed in midfield who was playing his last game for the club before he embarks on a world tour. He was involved in everything Kings did but it was mistakes in Dendy’s defence that ultimately led to two Kings’s goals in the first half. The first on seven minutes was scrambled home by Jordan Griffiths and the second , which put the visitors back in the lead after a fine equaliser from Matt Morris was ultimately given to Stuart Ainsworth but was considered by many to be an own goal. Two goals in three minutes ten minutes into the second half changed the game as Dendy took the lead. Firstly Luke Watkin flung himself horizontally to get his head to a Matt Morris cross to make it 2-2 then Leon White sidefooted powerfully into the top corner from eighteen yards to give the home side the lead. Morris got his second and Dendy’s fourth when he was first to react to a loose ball following a floated free kick from Chris Shepherd and Dendy should have added more. New signing Tom Wakefield made an immediate impact when he came on as substitute for Leon White and hit the bar with a great shot and then two minutes from time he rounded the Kings goalkeeper and two defenders to roll the ball into an empty net only to see the ball stop in a puddle on the goal line .
