Female Entrepeneurs show their skills and offer advice.
Would-be female business owners in Knutsford were invited to a free exploring enterprise session at Knutsford Civic Hall. The event was held on Saturday April 18 and was run by business support agency Blue Orchid, as part of its Inspirelle programme targeting would be female entrepreneurs.
Blue Orchid Adviser Pam Dawson said the event is designed to be informal, fun and informative. “The aim of these events is to encourage women to share their experiences and questions of what it takes to set up a business, from the benefits to the pitfalls. It also gives the existing business owners a chance to market their firm to like-minded women.”
Pam said Blue Orchid advisers will be on hand to offer more formal one to one advice. “These events are about supporting women that make a decision about setting up a business,” she said. “Women may not be sure that being a business owner is right for them. They may want to knock their idea around with an experienced adviser or business owner first.
The point of the InspirElle programme is provide advice tailored to each individual. We understand the pressures women are under and can offer advice at local venues at child-friendly times. Through our events and one-to-one intensive mentoring advice, we can give women sympathetic and experienced support to help them succeed.”
