Gascoigne Halman Academy lets young talent shine

By on July 22, 2014

Having teamed up with Asset Skills and Training Synergy to create their very own Apprenticeship scheme, Gascoigne Halman are proud to report on it’s success after nearly 2 years.

The aim of The Gascoigne Halman Academy is not only to assist in getting young locals into the workplace but also help the company to identify any future sales and lettings stars.

The apprenticeship blends on the job experience together with assisted web based learning over a two year period that will culminate in a NFOPP Level 3 Award in Residential Sales or Lettings Management and automatic membership of ARLA (Association Residential Letting Agents). It’s open to individuals aged between 17 and 21 and is the perfect route into the property sector for aspiring Estate Agents.

Gascoigne Halman  has taken on six apprentices so far, within both its sales and lettings divisions. The apprentices are currently based in their Altrincham, Didsbury, Knutsford, Marple Bridge and Stockton Heath offices and will be learning all about what it takes to make successful sales, how to write an advert, how to value properties and provide exceptional customer service, amongst a host of other things.

Director of the Lettings Division, Philip Chadwick said, “An estimated one in five young people (aged 18-24) in the North West are currently out of work, this coupled with the explosion of both the sales and lettings markets meant there was an opening for a professional industry training scheme which could see young people progress through the ranks.

Christopher Dodd was the first apprentice to enrol on the Gascoigne Halman Academy, he commented, “I started working for Gascoigne Halman in August 2012 at the Didsbury office and have since moved to the Knutsford Office in March 2014. Since I finished school I knew I wanted to get into the property industry and knew a little bit about lettings. Being able to do the apprenticeship gave me the opportunity to learn the day to day jobs and also the legal side of things. Over the last two years Gascoigne Halman has given myself and the other 5 apprentices a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the leading letting agents in south Manchester and Cheshire.”

If you believe you have a passion for property, excellent interpersonal skills and the drive to make things happen Gascoigne Halman would like to hear from you. Email for further details.
