By on July 13, 2017

A Knutsford-based hospitality company is calling on local SMEs from across the region to enter this year’s Amazon Growing Business Awards, which officially opens for nominations today here http://gba.realbusiness.co.uk/

New World Trading Company from Knutsford triumphed at the 2016 Awards when they scooped the top prize for Mid-Sized Company (Turnover £25m-£50m) of the year and the local company is calling on other local businesses to represent the region at the 2017 Awards.

Created by Real Business, sponsored by Amazon and supported by the CBI, the Amazon Growing Business Awards is the UK’s most established and respected recognition of small-to-medium-enterprise (SME) and entrepreneurial success.

Speaking at the launch of the 2017 Awards, New World Trading Company CEO Chris Hill said:

“Across the country, all the brands under The New World Trading Company are going from strength to strength. I am proud of everyone in the company from the incredible operations team through to those working at each site to ensure every customer has the best experience.

“We have big plans and are set to open seven more sites before April 2018 starting with The Botanist in Reading this month, which will be the company’s 17th in total. That will be followed by the launch of The Canal House at The James Brindley in Birmingham this summer, with a site at MediaCityUK in Manchester also opening this year.

“At Amazon, we are passionate about supporting small businesses in Knutsford – large or small, urban or rural, said Doug Gurr, UK Country Manager, Amazon. Throughout the year we’ve seen small businesses in Knutsford increase their revenue, create more jobs, and take up the challenge to innovate, boost productivity, and export more. These successes will be celebrated at the Amazon Growing Business Awards and I’d encourage companies of all shapes and sizes from Knutsford to enter the awards and showcase their fantastic performance to the nation.”

Since its launch in 1999, the Amazon Growing Business Awards has celebrated exceptional businesses and outstanding entrepreneurs. Previous winners include Innocent Drinks, Betfair, Lovefilm and Fever-Tree, while VIP guests to have graced the ceremony include Bill Gates, Gordon Brown and Stelios Haji-Ioannou.

Category winners will be presented with an award and benefit from the publicity, media promotion and brand exposure associated with the event. All UK-based high-growth and entrepreneurial companies, regardless of size or stage of operations, may enter the awards.

Nominations for the Awards are open now and will close in September. The Awards ceremony takes place in London in November.
