Police appeal for information after shop robbery on King Street

By on February 8, 2013

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a clothes shop in Knutsford.

At 5.40pm on Thursday 7 February 2013 a female member of staff was working in the shop Runway in King Street when three masked men entered.

One of the men made demands and she was taken to an office where she was threatened with a pick axe. Meanwhile the other two offenders emptied the till.

All three men then fled with cash, the woman′s watch and her Iphone 4S. The watch is a ladies GC Diver Chic Diamond Set. It has a black ceramic strap and a diamond bezel.

The first man is thought to be white, average build and height, with scar or mark on the left side of his top lip. He also had yellow teeth. He was wearing a black ski mask with two eyeholes and a mouth hole, a black fleece with red stitching on the upper right hand side and black gloves. He possibly had a Manchester accent.

He was carrying a small pick axe which looked new and had a black handle. The second man had the same type of ski mask and a black fleece, but without any red stitches. He was stockier than the first and was carrying a hammer or mallet which was silver in colour.

The third man is described as having the same build as the first offender. He was also wearing a ski mask and a black fleece. DC Andy Harwood said: “Thankfully the victim wasn′t injured during her ordeal but she was left shaken.

“We would appeal for anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area at the time, to contact police also, if anyone is offered for sale a watch matching this description I would ask that they contact us.”

Anyone with information can contact DC Andy Harwood on 101 quoting incident number 740 of 7 February 2013. Alternatively information can be given anonymously on 0800 555 111.
