M6 reopens after fatal collision

The M6 has now reopened following a fatal collision in the early hours of Thursday 20 June 2013.

At 4.20am, police were called to the motorway between junction 18 and 19, where a HGV had collided with a 53-year-old man.

The pedestrian died as a result of his injuries. His next of kin have been informed.

The motorway was closed southbound between junction 19 and 18 but has just re-opnened.

Traffic is still very heavy in the area however due to diversions that were put in place.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 109 of 20 June.
