Police appeal for witnesses following serious collision in Cranage

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the A50 Knutsford Road in Cranage.

Shortly before 8.48pm on Saturday 12 October 2013 a black Peugeot 206 followed by a silver Vauxhall Corsa was travelling along Goostrey Lane towards the A50.

The Peugeot came out of Goostrey Lane onto the A50 Knutsford Road and collided with a black Landrover Discovery travelling towards Knutsford.

The Corsa also entered the A50 and collided with a white van which was travelling behind the Landrover.

The van did not stop at the scene and carried on towards Knutsford.

The driver and the passenger of the Peugeot received serious injuries. The passenger, a 17-year-old woman was taken to Salford Royal hospital and the driver, a 17-year-old man, was taken to Wythenshawe.

The occupants of the Landrover and Corsa had minor injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles involved prior to the collision to contact them. Also anyone who knows the location of the white van, which would have damage to its offside, should contact police.
