High Leigh collision, witnesses sought
Appeal after collision leaves 86 year old woman in critical condition
An 86-year-old woman is in a critical condition after a car collided with a HGV in Knutsford.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision on the A50 Knutsford Road, at the High Legh junction with the B5159 West Lane, outside High Legh Village Hall.
Just after midday on Monday 14 October 2013, a silver Honda Jazz collided with an articulated Volvo HGV. The car left the carriageway and collided with a wall outside High Legh Village Hall before rebounding back into the carriageway.
Two people were in the car and were taken to Wythenshawe hospital. An 86-year-old woman is in a critical condition and an 87-year-old man suffered serious injuries but is not considered life threatening.
The driver of the HGV was not injured but was suffering from shock.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 356 of 14 October.
