Knutsford HC Mens 3rd XI vs Bangor

Armstrong’s kit looked a bit baggy but that did not stop him making some sharp stops during the early exchanges. After the first ten minutes Knutsford had held their own and also started to push against the Bangor visitors. Soon Knutsford persistence paid off with Crabtree reverse sticking his shot from the top of the D past the helpless keeper.

Not happy with one goal Knutsford continued the charge deep into the Bangor half – Drake, Merrill and Lawrence who when combined are 5 stone wet through turned into a brick wall that Bangor could get past. Knutsford scored their second from a short corner from Hickson and Moss neatly finished their third from the spot. Hickson finished the first half drubbing turning in the fourth goal.

Knutsford lost Drake at half time and knew that Bangor would come out fighting which they did. The second half Knutsford closed up shop and held the opposition with Man of the Match Ford , Moss and Todd playing excellent defensive roles. Knutsford conceded a goal with ten minutes to go but held their nerve and held to take a well deserved victory.
