Double Header and the 3rds Move Up to 3rd
On Sunday Knutsford took on Oxton who were already promoted with 2 games to go.
The rearranged match would prove to be an end to end battle. A huge crowd of 14 watched on as underdogs Knutsford took the lead with Andy Wright finishing well after Oxton couldn’t clear there D. Oxton countered quickly with Knutsford’s central defender Ford playing well to keep the visitors at bay.
Evans still confused with what you have to do with the white ball managed to break the law of physics by hitting the ball backwards with an open goal in front of him.
The Oxton equaliser was a back post tap in which had been created with some great team play.
Half time came and with the crowd attendance swelling to 17 Knutsford came forward and created half a dozen chances with that man Evans missing a sitter after some awesome approach play. Man of the Match Crabtree found himself struggling to pass to his dad who was playing in a higher position and surely will see his pocket money cancelled in the coming weeks.
Howard moved up out of right back to put a bit more pressure against the Oxton defence and with 5 minutes to go Marsland’s miss hit a free hit was pounced on by crabtree to smash his 13th goal of the season right between the keepers legs.
