Proctor makes waves at The Mere
One of the region’s best know radio voices will soon be making waves of a different kind at the new health club and spa at The Mere in Cheshire.
Bowdon resident and Key 103 radio presenter Darren Proctor has been among the first to sign up for membership at region’s premier health club and spa following its £5.5million redevelopment.
A keen golfer with a handicap of 16, Proctor is looking forward to playing more golf at The Mere and improving his fitness and well-being off the course in the new health club and spa with state-of-the-art fitness suite, swimming pool, thermal zone and hydrotherapy centre.
He comments: “Living locally, I have watched the development come together with a great deal of interest and was lucky enough to receive a sneak preview before the official opening next week.
“It is now time for me to put my money where my mouth is and commit to get fit for the summer. In addition to golf, I enjoy the gym and bit of swimming – but I am also looking forward to making use of the hydrotherapy areas and hammam for some much needed relaxation.
“I am frequently at The Mere hosting charity dinners and other events, so I can now combine this with a trip to the gym!.”
Owner and CEO at The Mere, Mark Boler, comments: “It is a pleasure to welcome Darren to The Mere. Without doubt, we now have the finest health, well-being and spa facilities in the region and I hope he will enjoy making good use of them. I am delighted that phase one of our development is now complete, offering great value and affordable health and well-being facilities to everyone across the local area.”
The Mere Golf Resort and Spa is undergoing a £15million re-development which sees the introduction of a stylish new 81 bedroom hotel and exceptional health club and spa. Setting new standards for quality and luxury in the north of England, the prestigious new spa is nearing completion and will officially open next Friday 21 January with a stunning launch party event.
