Plans submitted for 300k Sq Ft Knutsford ‘Novus’ scheme
Chancerygate has submitted plans for a 300,000 sq ft industrial and warehouse scheme in Knutsford.
The plans will include transforming an existing 16-acre site at the eastern end of Parkgate Industrial Estate, on Haig Road, into ‘Novus’.
The firm aim to be on site by the summer of 2018 – subject to planning consent – with phase one of the proposed scheme consisting of seven units
Richard Bains, managing director for Chancerygate, said: “We are delighted to see this site move forward. It is a great example of what we are trying to achieve by developing out larger sites that can accommodate companies in the burgeoning SME [small- and medium-sized enterprise] and mid-box markets.
“We are focusing on securing more sites of this scale in 2018.”
Mike Walker, development director for Chancerygate in the North West, added: “We purchased this prime site in July 2017 with the intention of getting onsite to build out the proposed scheme speculatively, as quickly as possible. The submission of the application is an important first stage of that journey.
“We hope to be onsite in June 2018 and have been extremely encouraged by the number of discussions we have already had with prospective occupiers interested in the scheme. Ultimately, we envisage the development will create around 140 jobs in the construction phase and up to 720 new permanent jobs when the scheme is completed.
The architect for the development is UMC with Hourigan Connolly as planning consultants. Gerald Eve and Williams Sillitoe have been retained as joint agents on the sales and lettings.
