Knutsford hotel sold to new investors

By on February 10, 2018

Knutsford’s luxury hotel The Mere Golf Resort and Spa has been sold for an undisclosed sum.

Ejarat Holdings, a Gulf-based investor, are the new owners after previous shareholders Mark Boler and Gary Corbett sold their stakes. Chairman Gary Corbett will assume the role of chief executive officer whilst Mark Boler will remain as non-executive director.

Mr Boler said: “I am delighted we have secured a new owner for the business. Since 2011 we have continued to develop The Mere brand with investment in building the spa and hotel and enhancements to the wider resort offering, and now truly believe that this presents an opportunity for the business to build on its already enviable position and grow further.”

The hotel will continue to operate as an 81-bedroom luxury resort, spa and 18-hole championship golf course in Cheshire.
