Hundreds attend Knutsford May Day character selection

By on March 13, 2018

Hundreds of children from Cheshire attended the Knutsford Royal May Day’s 143rd character selection earlier in the month.

Eileen Podmore, joint secretary of the May Day Committee said: “We were delighted that so many children from the town turned out to support the event,.”

“The hall was packed with children of all ages and everyone who attended received a costume within the two-hour time slot.

“I would like to say a big thank you to my fellow committee members, who as usual, worked incredibly hard, in the run-up to the selection and on the day.”

Any children who were unable to attend but would like to take part in the parade on Saturday 5th May should contact Eileen on ee.podmore@ntlworld.com

Eileen added: “We still have some costumes available and would be delighted to hear from anyone who wishes to join us for what promises to be another fantastic celebration of Knutsford’s heritage.”
