Knutsford ready to host its annual Bunny Hop

By on March 25, 2018

Knutsford town centre is ready to host its annual Bunny Hop to celebrate Easter and all things chocolate on Saturday 31st March.

As per previous years the event will see families scouring across Knutsford to find 8 bunnies which will be hidden in amongst all of Knutsford town centre streets.  Once found they write the bunny’s name on a postcard and post it into the Heritage Centre’s post box.   Postcards have been delivered to all local schools, pre-schools and nurseries and some will be available on the day from participating shops, restaurants and cafes.

The event has become a firm fixture on Knutsford’s event calendar growing in popularity each year and this year is being coordinated by Knutsford Town Council.

Sandra Curties, Town Centre Manager said, “We, along with the event sponsors, Mr Simms and Little Waitrose, have been overwhelmed by the number of retailers wishing to get involved.  There are too many to mention here but the list includes, Gusto, Evuna, Travel Bag, Dr Barnardo’s, Saks Hairdressers, The Angel and Clarity. We urge all those taking part to visit every nook and cranny of Knutsford.  Look out for the ‘We are Bunny Hop friendly posters’ in the shop windows, spot the bunnies and, of course, to collect chocolate!”  Many shops are also hosting their own mini celebrations with face painting, competitions and dressing up.

All entries are entered a prize draw and the prizes on offer include children’s sunglasses worth £100 from Wendy Diddams, an Easter Hamper from Mr Simms, a voucher from Little Waitrose, a voucher for afternoon tea from The Courthouse and some toys from Hal Whittaker.

The event runs from 10am to 4pm and includes all the main streets in Knutsford town centre – King Street, Princess Street, Regent Street and Minshull Street.  There are no road closures, so parents are urged to supervise children at all times.
