Knutsford Academy film at Knutsford Market Hall

By on June 30, 2018

A group of Year 12 media students from Knutsford Multi Academy Trust visited Knutsford Market Hall on Friday to film ‘a typical afternoon’ at the market.

The idea behind the filming was two-fold: firstly, to have an historical archive of Knutsford Market Hall as it is now (pending the potential re-development) and for Knutsford Town Council to have promotional videos of each trader that can be used across multimedia platforms.

Sandra Curties, Knutsford Town Council’s Town Centre Manager visited the school earlier in the month and briefed the students on what was required.  The students then worked together to film the market, before putting each trader at ease so they were ready for the one-to-one filming.

Gareth Barker, Media Teacher at the Academy said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for our Year 12 Media students to have some hands-on experience and produce something worthwhile for our local community”.

Helena Searle, one of the students commented, “This project has been a real eye opener to both the practicalities of filming and the importance of engaging with your audience”.

The finished films will be used across the Market Hall’s social media accounts and website in the coming months.
