New road layout trial for Cranford Avenue
A one-way system is being introduced to Cranford Avenue from the end of August.
Cheshire East Council as notified residents of the new road layout and asked for feedback from residents and motorists on whether they make the road one-way for good.
The one-way system will be in place from Friday 31st August 2018, with signage going up from 28th August 2018.
“Any representations of support or objection to the proposals can be sent to the highways service within the first six months of the scheme coming into effect,” said the council.
“All representations will be considered during a maximum period of 18 months from the date of implementation before the local highways authority can either remove the scheme or introduce it permanently.
“During this time further evidence gathering of traffic flows and vehicle speeds will take place within a reasonable time frame following the introduction of the experimental one-way scheme.
“In addition, using available resources, carriageway patching will take place under a ‘Road Closure’ during the same period.
“Dates for the associated road closure will be confirmed nearer the time through temporary traffic signs.
“Due to the nature of the road where work is taking place, parking of motor vehicles on the carriageway will be strictly prohibited due to access requirements for large plant and machinery.”
