Funding for East Cheshire Musical Theatre Company
East Cheshire Musical Theatre Company have received a grant boost from Equilibrium Asset Management’s Community Support Scheme
The amateur theatre company said the funds would allow it to continue to promote the arts as a form of wellbeing.
Wilmslow-based Equilibrium’s Community Support Scheme awards grants from £100 to £500 to community organisations and charities across the region and has ran the scheme since 2015. They have awarded over £14,000 to date.
Thom Copestake, an actor from the East Cheshire Musical Theatre Company, who is responsible with helping with fundraising for the company, said: “This grant will allow the society to grow and develop, to continue to promote the arts as a form of wellbeing, to engage with the community and continue to support the charity and outreach work undertaken by members.”
The group’s productions over the past few years have included Little Shop of Horrors, Annie and Beauty and the Beast. The theatre company is supporting the Wellspring Trust charity.
The group’s next show, in April 2019, is a production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar.
