By on October 16, 2018

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault at a pub in Macclesfield.

At 11.30pm on Sunday 24 June an unknown man entered the Macc Public House and became aggressive towards other customers.

A member of staff asked the man to leave and upon doing so he forcibly kicked the door, causing it to slam shut and resulting in the member of staff losing the tip of his finger.

The man officers are looking to speak to is described as white with short dark hair, of slim build and approximately 5’ 10” tall. At the time of the incident he was wearing a white t-shirt and shorts.

Police Constable Jackie Cantrell said: “The victim in this case was simply trying to do his job and as a result he has sustained a serious injury.

“Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and we are committed to doing all we can to trace the person responsible.

“ If you recognise the man in the CCTV image, or you have any information on the assault, please contact me.”

Anyone with information should contact DC Cantrell on 101 or via quoting IML103638.

Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
