Cheshire ‘Baby-Detective’ lands top speaking slot at national show

By on February 15, 2019

A Cheshire-based maternity nurse who has worked with thousands of new parents including celebrity mum Sienna Miller has landed a top speaking spot at the UK’s largest parenting show.

Sarah Norris, expert maternity nurse and one of the country’s leading baby care consultants, is among several high profile professionals who will be on hand to advise mums and dads attending The Baby Show at ExCel London, between March 1 and 3.

Organisers asked Sarah, from High Legh near Knutsford, to speak at the event after she reserved a stand to promote and sell her highly reviewed book ‘The Baby Detective: Solve your baby problems your way’.

Published just over 12 months ago by Orion Spring, the book provides step-by-step advice to parents on how they can investigate and solve their own baby care problems.

It draws on Sarah’s 25 years of experience working alongside new mums and dads as they find their way in the parenting world.

Sarah said: “I’m absolutely delighted and honoured that organisers have asked me to join the line-up of speakers for this fabulous event.

“I’ve given my life to supporting parents with their new born babies – helping them to recover from the birth, assisting with feeds and giving them the confidence they need to establish new routines.

“Having a baby is one of the most exciting times in life but it can also be a little daunting. Sometimes with so much advice available, it can be overwhelming and difficult to know where to turn, which book to read and what magazine article to trust.

“My approach gives parents the confidence to understand their own child’s unique personality so they can respond to their baby’s own individual needs when it comes to feeding, sleeping and all the other issues which parents worry about – colic, reflux, illness, travel, siblings and pets.

“The show will be a terrific opportunity to address some of these concerns with parents and reassure them they are doing a fabulous job.”

Sarah will give a talk on ‘Sleep Optimisation’ when she attends the show, which attracts 70,000 visitors across the three days. She will be joined on stage by an A-list of expert speakers including weaning specialist and fellow author Annabel Karmel; the Sleep Nanny – Lucy Shrimpton; baby and language expert Dr Robert Titzer to name but a few.
