Bunny Hop hops back to Knutsford this Easter
Knutsfordians and visitors can look forward to lots of family fun as the annual Bunny Hop returns to Knutsford on Easter Saturday which this year falls on April 20th.
Since its launch in 2013 by the business community, the event has become a firm fixture on Knutsford’s event calendar growing in popularity each year. As last year, Knutsford Town Council is leading on the event organisation working in partnership with sponsorship from Mere Day Nursery, Bella Marketing and Design, Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shop and Little Waitrose.
As per previous years the event will see families scouring across Knutsford to find 9 bunnies which will be hidden in amongst all of Knutsford town centre streets. Slightly different to previous years, once found, families write the letter the bunny will be ‘holding’ on the entry form. When they have collected all 9 letters, they re-arrange the letters which will spell a popular word associated with Easter before posting the entry into the post box at the Heritage Centre. There will also be a draw after Easter with prizes kindly donated by the business community. A huge number of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops will have ‘We are Bunny Hop Friendly’ posters in their window and joining in the fun by handing out Easter treats and balloons and dressing up!
Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shop, always supportive of community initiatives, have run the event in previous years and are providing sponsorship this year, with Bella Marketing and Design providing promotional materials. It is the first time Mere Day Nursery have been involved and Becki Gilhooley, Early Years Teacher, said “Mere Day Nursery is delighted to co-sponsor Knutsford’s annual Bunny Hop. It is such a lovely community event and we can’t wait to work with Knutsford’s retailers and businesses on Easter Saturday. It is going to be a great day!”
Sam Moyse, Team Manager (Service) of Little Waitrose said, “Waitrose & Partners Knutsford are really excited to co-sponsor Bunny Hop for the second year. Bunny Hop is such a brilliant event which really shows off the community spirit in Knutsford, many of our partners live in the community and have brought up children here so events like this are particularly close to our hearts. We can’t wait to see everyone!”
Postcards will be delivered to all local schools as well as being available on the day. The event runs from 10am to 4pm and includes all the main streets in Knutsford town centre – King Street, Princess Street, Regent Street and Minshull Street. There are no road closures, so parents are urged to supervise children at all times.
