Call for nominations for the Manchester Young Talent Awards
The Manchester office of national solicitors Clarke Willmott LLP is the first confirmed sponsor of this year’s prestigious Manchester Young Talent Awards (MYTA).
The firm is sponsoring the competition’s Entrepreneur of the Year category that recognises outstanding individuals who exemplify the best attributes of the city’s young people. The previous winner of this category was Hanna Putjato, founder and director of London Lash Pro.
The event, which has 13 different categories, is hosted by Manchester’s Junior Chamber International (JCI) and will be held at the Midland Hotel on November 14 2019.
“We are looking to identify enterprising individuals who have already achieved a great deal and have the drive and motivation to take their business to the next level,” said Clarke Willmott partner Chris Longbottom, who is also a member of the judging panel.
“The judges want to hear from young people who have set up a business that has set and achieved objectives within their business plans, and an understanding of the relationship between their own development and the future success of the business.
“Applicants will need to demonstrate the most impressive business successes in their career to date and show significant promise as a future leader in business.”
The awards are open to people between the ages of 18 and 40 across a wide range of sectors including finance, legal, property, recruitment, marketing and media.
“Each year we are blown away by the high calibre of the applications and overwhelming support we receive from Manchester’s business community,” said Ellen Walker, JCI Manchester President 2019.
“Given the wealth of talent the city has to offer, winning – and being shortlisted for – an award at MYTA is a huge accolade. As we have seen from previous winners, it is a great platform to go on and achieve further professional success.”
Junior Chamber International is a global, not-for-profit organisation with a mission to provide development opportunities to empower young people to create positive change.
The organisation has an impressive list of prominent international alumni including presidents John F Kennedy, and Jacques Chirac of France and UN secretary general, Kofi Annan.
Clarke Willmott paralegal Steph Peña was recently named as one of JCI’s social directors for 2019 and is helping to plan, prepare and promote a series of JCI events over the coming year.
Nominations for the awards are now open. Individuals can either nominate themselves or “Nominate a Mate” using the online form. For information visit: https://www.manchesteryoungtalentawards.co.uk
