The Mere Golf Resort & Spa’s Golf Ambassador, Jack Brooks, has taken second place at the Lytham Trophy. The event, which took place at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club on Sunday 5th May 2019, saw 144 international Golf players compete to win the prestigious title.

After four rounds of golf, Brooks missed out by 1 shot, leaving him with a score of 289 and tying with fellow English golfer, Harry Goddard, whose rounds both ranged from 68 to 78, and Austrian Gerold Folk. First place was awarded to Wallasey golfer, Joshua McMahon, who scored 288. From the 144 starters taking part in the competition, only 48 survived the cut to compete in the 36-hole final day.

Paul Clare, The Mere’s head of golf commented “We are delighted to have Jack as The Mere’s Golf Ambassador. He has already had a great start to the golfing season with a win at Penwortham Rose Bowl and obtaining second place at Lytham Trophy. We look forward to being part of Jack’s continued success for the remainder of the golfing year”.
