More Music Trains for Mid Cheshire Line
The Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership has arranged Music Trains on the Mid Cheshire Line on two consecutive Wednesdays, May 22 and 29, in the rear carriages of Northern services.
On May 22, Herding Catz will play between Altrincham and Chester, with the Dave Roberts Jazz Quartet playing at Alexanders.
The train leaves Altrincham at 6.36pm and returns from Chester at 10.52pm. A taxi will take guests from the station to the venue by booking via alexanderslive.com
Herding Catz is a vibrant four-piece Blues rock band from Buxton, playing a mix of classic blues and rock with a drive and energy that is bred from their love of the music.
The Dave Roberts Jazz Quartet are a mainstream/modern jazz quartet with a huge repertoire of jazz standards including accessible, swinging jazz.
On May 29, the Deportees will play on the Music Train from Chester to Plumley and at the Golden Pheasant pub.
The train departs Chester at 7pm and returns from Plumley at 10.29pm.
The Deportees are Graham Bellinger, Mick Green and Adrian Dear and will be playing guitars, mandolin, mandocello, bouzouki and banjo as well as harmonica and melodeon.
Most of all the Deportees sing with three voices finding unexpected harmonies in a mix of old and recent songs from both sides of the Atlantic.
Music Trains organiser Michael Ross said: “Our Music Trains season began in April and our first train was great success.
“We have music in the rear carriage of the service train on the way out, at the venue and then on the way home. If you enjoy music, you will definitely enjoy our Music Trains.
“Listening to your favourite music as the train passes over the Weaver Arches in Northwich and through Delamere Forest in an experience not to be missed.
“We use normal service trains. You pay for your rail ticket and we have a collection for the band on the way home.”
