Kit donation for the team on the up
When the `Scorpions’ Ladies Netball Team needed a new kit, Katie Richmond one of the team members (pictured 3rd along on the top row) knew who to turn to – Cheshire Freemasons.
Katie a part-time waitress at Willaston Masonic Hall called on the help of the management team of the Hall who were more than happy to help with a sizeable donation.
Resplendent in their new kit, the `Scorpions’ who were formed in 2014 by Zowie Cooper who started playing netball after having her daughter as a way of keeping fit, have gone from strength to strength. Having started in the second division, the `Scorpions’ now play in the South Cheshire Championship League. The team which is for the over 16 age group play at three different venues in the south Cheshire area; Shavington Leisure Centre, Middlewich Leisure Centre and the Life Style Centre in Crewe.
Zowie says “Netball is a great sport, it not only keeps us active but also gives us an opportunity to socialise with other women. Playing netball and being part of a team gives us a much needed break from the stresses that both work and family life can bring! We are really grateful for the Cheshire Freemasons generous donations to fund our netball dresses we wouldn’t have been able to get the dresses without them”.
