Local Walking Instructor gets involved in National Fitness Day
Local Nordic Walking Instructor Helen Murray is providing free activities for everyone as part of National Fitness Day 2019 – the most active day of the year.
National Fitness Day on Wednesday 25 September sees the nation celebrate the fun and thrills of physical activity.
Throughout the UK, people of all ages can enjoy a huge range of activities such as treadmill challenges, dance-offs and Pilates classes.
Helen Murray of Chelford, will be offering local people the opportunity to take part in Nordic Walking Tasters and Adventure Walks for free on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 September in and around Chelford and Knutsford.
“I am passionate about helping people to move more, so I am thrilled to be involved in National Fitness Day by providing free Nordic Walking activities,” she said.
The fitness expert, who is also a qualified Cancer and Exercise Rehabilitation Specialist, recognises that taking the first steps towards an active lifestyle can be daunting, but says that it does get easier once you find something you enjoy.
“I’ve seen so many people whose lives have completely changed, simply through the power of exercise.
“The great thing about Nordic walking is that it’s straight forward to learn because takes something that we do on a daily basis – walking – and enhances it through the use of special poles,” she said.
No previous Nordic Walking experience is necessary and poles will be provided for the walks, but booking is essential.
