Fulfil Your Need For Speed…

By on April 25, 2010

Better known for its romantically beautiful gardens and tranquil lake, 19th century Cholmondeley Castle will become the focus of military combat demonstrations, powerboat racing and motorbike scrambling displays on the weekend of 17th-18th July

Now in its third year, Cholmondeley’s Pageant of Power is a spectacle of high-octane action for those who get a charge from the sound of finely tuned machinery and the whiff of engine oil. There will be aircraft performances, hovercraft racing and both contemporary and historic cars competing on Cholmondeley Circuit – not to mention laser clay pigeon shooting and helicopter pleasure flights for those who fancy some hands-on excitement.

Away from the roar of engines will be a fabulous shopping village with ‘Lifestyle Pavilion’, numerous bars and lakeside picnic areas. Camping facilities are also provided for serious speed junkies.

This year’s festival is sponsoring Help for Heroes, the charity that provides practical, direct support for the wounded in Britain’s current conflicts. Children will be encouraged to visit the Little Soldier Experience, where they can conquer assault courses with the assistance of serving soldiers. Battle-hardened armoured vehicles will be on display and there will be ample opportunity to climb into all the vehicles, chat to their operators and watch an Assault Demonstration – with all the sights, sounds and smells of an authentic arms attack, using the equipment on display.

On the Saturday evening there will be a Fireworks Concert and Military Tattoo, complete with marching bands and helicopters flying in to the Ride of the Valkyries.

For tickets and event updates, please call 01829 772 433 or visit www.cpop.co.uk. Booking early ensures that children go free.
