CARE TO SHARE A PINT?
Guy Wolstencroft, 41 from Knutsford, Cheshire will be running the tough Windermere Marathon on May 16th, and he is asking people to show their support by donating a pint of blood. Many runners ask friends, family and colleagues to donate money to a charity for such events, but instead of a cash donation Guy is inviting everyone to ‘share a pint’ with him.
Guy is aiming to share 1001 pints by the end of May. The campaign started on April 20th and more than 200 people signed up in the first twenty-four hours, most of them first time donors. Guy is encouraging anyone and everyone to support him. He commented: “the euphoric feeling of ‘hands on help’ is such an uplifting one. A small scratch, less than an hour of your time, and you are helping to save and enrich lives!”
He continued: “You donate the blood and I will provide the sweat and tears!”
More information on how to make a donation can be found at www.blood.co.uk or by calling 0300 123 23 23 If you would like to support Guy by sharing a pint, let him know by emailing him at firstname.lastname@example.org so he can keep a running total of the number of pints donated.
