Danielle sings Over the Rainbow charity single in aid of Prostate UK
Proceeds from the charity single are to be split between Prostate UK and The BBC Performing Arts Fund. You can download the single now or buy a CD version from Monday 31 May.
Danielle met three generations of men from the same family – four year old Henry, father Robert and grandfather Ian – to promote the single and find out more about the work of Prostate UK. Family history can be an important factor in developing prostate disease so it’s important for men of all ages to be prostate aware.
Amanda McLean, Chief Executive of Prostate UK said: ‘We are very grateful to Andrew Lloyd Webber for choosing Prostate UK as a beneficiary for the charity single and hope to see it climbing the charts. One in two men will suffer from a prostate disease at some stage in their lives so, as something which appeals to all ages, this is a great way of raising awareness of prostate disease across the generations.’
Henry, Robert and Ian are all supporters of Prostate UK through the 5km family fun runs Pants in the Park which will be coming to Manchester’s Heaton Park on Sunday 6 June. Find out more at www.pantsinthepark.org
Andrew Lloyd Webber was successfully treated for prostate cancer in 2009.
