‘Movember’ at IFE Services raises money for men’s health charity
Knutsford, Cheshire, UK. Members of staff at leading in-flight entertainment provider, IFE Services, participated in ‘Movember’ last month to raise funds and awareness of men’s health issues.
The ‘Mo’, slang for moustache, and November come together each year for Movember.
Organised by the Movember Foundation, a not-for-profit, charitable foundation, the fundraising event challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. Participants begin Movember 1st clean shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers and other illnesses that affect men.
Five of IFE Services’ staff rose to the challenge growing a variety of eye-catching moustache styles. They raised funds from friends, family and work colleagues for research into diseases such as prostate and testicular cancer.
“Movember is a fun way of raising much needed funds for a variety of diseases that effect men,” said Andy Reid, Movember organiser and IFE Services’ Movie Programming Manager. “The team really embraced the opportunity to help this very worthwhile charity and did a brave job of raising awareness of men’s health issues in the most visible way possible.”
