Corrie stars in Ladies Lunch launch!
Coronation Street favourites Lee Boardman and Jennifer James, aka bad lad Jez Quigley and barmaid Geena Gregory, are helping to kick-start a local charity’s Ladies Lunch event.
The husband and wife team got into the glamour of the event when they visited the charity recently, sporting feather boas and elegant outfits! The 17th June will see The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust holding their 7th Annual Ladies Lunch event at The Mere, and this year they’re hoping to break records!
Last year’s event saw 300 ladies enjoying an afternoon of luxury, pampering and fun and raised an amazing £17,000. With the help of their celebrity Patrons, Lee & Jenny, the charity is going all out to smash these targets in 2011. Lee will this year be stepping into the role of Host with the Most for the event. He comments: “This is going to be a fantastic event, I’m so honoured to be asked to be the Host. Jenny has been to several CAFT Ladies Lunches and always has an absolute whale of a time.
We’ve been involved with The Adventure Farm for many years now and can’t imagine not being part of the amazing work they’re doing. The guys over there all work so hard to give the kids a holiday they will never forget, we’re proud to be their Patrons.”
The event will start at 10.30pm and continue through until 4pm. Ladies will be treated to a luxurious cocktail drinks reception with entertainment provided by the talented musician and vocalist Penny Mac. Shoppers will be in heaven with the fantastic range of stalls and demonstrations which will be available throughout the event.
And that’s just the start! The event will provide non-stop entertainment, including the vocal talents of swing singer Howard Wing, a Grand Raffle and Auction and many surprises and treats along the way! Cheshire Lady of Congleton will stage an exclusive Fashion Show – showcasing their fantastic range of lingerie, nightwear and swimwear. Gravity Live will also provide a short and sweet accessory show which is sure to wow the guests.
The ladies will be kept well fed with a delicious 2 course meal and each will go away with a luxury goodie bag full of treats. Tickets are on sale for £45 by calling Julie Gray, at CAFT on 01565 830 053 or emailing Julie at Julie@caft.co.uk Julie, the event’s organiser, comments: “This event grows in popularity each year, word really is getting out that CAFT’s Ladies Lunch is one of the premier lunch events in the society calendar! This year our Ladies Lunch is celebrating strong, successful women and has the theme of “She who dares….”!
Its such a full, fun-packed day which is excellent value for money. We’re so pleased that Lee has agreed to host our event for us this year, he and Jenny are such amazing Patrons and it’ll be lovely having them both there to celebrate the day with us.”
