Mozart, Purcell & Dvorak at Tabley House
In the stunningly beautiful Gallery of Tabley House, there will be a delightful concert of Baroque and Romantic music on Thursday June 21st at 7.30pm, given by the Deconet Quartet.
Organised by the Friends, the proceeds of their events all go towards the refurbishing of the rooms and contents of the House, a major part of Cheshire’s history and heritage. Their current project is the re-decoration of the House’s chapel “We are now very close indeed to making the £19,000 needed to pay for the job” said Carole Cooper, the Friends’ Chair.
The Deconet String Quartet is led by Louise Latham – the quartet takes its name from the maker of her 18th century Italian violin. Louise studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and has played with the BBC Philharmonic and many other leading symphony and chamber orchestras. She led the London City Opera orchestra on a USA tour and has toured the UK and Ireland with the Mozart Festival Orchestra. She is also deputy leader of the Northern Chamber Orchestra.
The programme will consist of a Purcell prelude, Mozart’s quartet in G (K387), Dvorak’s “Cypresses” – and a selection of light-hearted “bons bons”, to be introduced by the quartet. There will, as usual, also be wine and nibbles.
