Help Needed – Council organises a clean-up!
The Town Council in partnership with the Friends of the Moor is organising a litter pick around the Town.
The Town Mayor Cllr Vivien Davies said “We are pleased to work with the Friends of the Moor and to have the support of Cheshire East Council in organising this clean up.
It is a little sad that it is necessary, but we want to encourage volunteers to come along to the Moor on Saturday 28th July at 10am to help for no more than an hour to blitz as much of the Town as possible”.
Cllr Peter Coan who is managing the event on the day said “Civic pride and a pristine town is our aim, let’s get stuck in! We hope to get as many volunteers as possible to help us. A quick briefing will be provided on the Moor, a gazebo will be the focal point.
We simply need volunteers to come along with a pair of gardening gloves and lend a hand, we will provide any other equipment.”
Stewart Gardiner, Chairman of Friends of the Moor said “We are looking forward to the event and anticipate we will clean up as large an area as possible, the Moor and the Town Centre are a vital part of our economy and we want it to be as clean as possible in order that residents and visitors can make the most of our fine Town.”.
Anyone wishing to help should contact the Town Council on 01565 653929 or drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
This will help the Council to plan the event and support our volunteers.
