Charity Christmas card shop now open

By on November 6, 2012

The annual pop-up charity Christmas card shop is now open for business in Knutsford Civic Centre. The shop is open from 10am to 4pm daily including Saturdays.

The pop-up charity Christmas shop is a well-established feature of the Christmas season and enables people to support a variety of national and local charities knowing that the charities retail every penny spent on the cards.

Started forty years ago by Sheila Hallas MBE, the Combined Charities Christmas Shops Association has raised over £4 million for the participating charities.

Irene Chambers of Kidneys for Life said, “The CCCSA does a great job for us, raising both money and awareness, and in these difficult times it is good to know that Sheila and her team are continuing with this policy.“

All overheads are covered by the sale of gifts, stocking fillers and wrapping paper and the shops are staffed entirely by volunteers. Nobody in the whole operation receives any payment for their services.

More information and details of opening hours can be found at www.Christmas-cards.org.uk.
