Back to the Baroque
The Friends of Tabley will play host once again to the Telemann Ensemble on 21st May. Playing amongst baroque treasures in Tabley House, music lovers will be treated to a programme of music from the high baroque as well as fascinating quotations from dairies and writings of the period.
Peter Collier, Harpsichordist and leader of the group, runs the famous Oxford Baroque week. As a special treat there will be an eighteenth century piece never before played. This year the Ensemble has been joined by a flute and oboe, allowing them to perform many more pieces from the Baroque period.
Anna Smyth, Membership Secretary says; “We are delighted to have The Telemann Ensemble with us again as their concert was a sell out last time. We know that the Leicester family, who owned Tabley House, were music lovers, indeed visitors to the house often remark on the two very fine virginals on display. We’d like to think that they would be very pleased to hear Baroque music in the Gallery.”
Wine and canapés will be served during the evening. Money raised at the event will go towards conservation projects for The Tabley House Collection.
The event starts at 7.00 pm, tickets cost £20.00 and anyone wishing to find out more should contact Anna Smyth on 01565 651979 or firstname.lastname@example.org
