Knutsford’s Barbour Employees Tackle Ben Nevis in aid of Cancer research
A dedicated team, including employees from the Barbour Partner Retail store at Knutsford are hoping to summit the UKs largest mountain this weekend to help raise money for Cancer Research UK, a charity close to their hearts.
The team decided back in May to take on this monstrous mountain with an aim of raising £2,000. However, the group have already managed to raise £2,457.14 ahead of this weekend’s climb thanks to the kind donations of friends and family.
The team of employees chose to undertake the climb in aid of Cancer Research UK when they realised that cancer had affected each one of them in one way or another. Lauren Stone, who has organised the event said “this could not have been achieved without all the hard work from not just those who donated or sponsored, but all of the team and their hard work that has been put in over the last five months. However, knowing that we may be part of making a difference or saving someone’s life makes it all worthwhile”.
The dedicated group of employees recently held a car boot sale where a further £120 was raised for Cancer Research, whilst in August, a fundraising weekend was arranged by staff. The event was a great success and the employees plan on holding another event to raise even more for the charity that means so much to them.
