Pop in to Tatton’s famous Housekeeper’s Store in the near future and you could be in with a treat. Visitors to this famous food and drink shop will be given the opportunity to `try (some very special fayre) before they buy’ during a mouth watering programme of tasting sessions over the next couple of months.

The initiative forms part of a significant programme of plans to enhance the Stableyard shopping and dining experience at Tatton Park as part of the Tatton Park Vision, its five year plan to significantly develop its visitor experiences.

Kicking off the programme ….and just in time for Easter…..are Meg and Cisco from Misco’s handmade chocolates who will be offering samples of their very posh handmade chocolates and truffles on Sunday April 13th. All are made with fresh and natural ingredients and come in the most gorgeous packaging.

A firm favourite of Tatton Park’s customers, Cottage Delight, will be in-store on Saturday April 19th offering tastings of their delicious chutneys and pates.

Visitors on a Bank Holiday Easter Monday outing to Tatton will be able to get up to speed with the latest tea trends when James from Tea from the Manor will be demonstrating their beautiful range of leaf teas.

For those partial to a `tipple with a difference’ then Saturday May 3rd would be a good day to visit Tatton Park as Lyme Bay wines will be on site offering tasting samples of their fabulous range of English fruit wines and advise on which to drink with what.

Grumpy Mule Coffee, winner of 6 Great Taste Awards in 2013 and Best Coffee Brand (Fine Food Digest 2013-14), will be really getting the taste buds working on Sunday May 4th.  Discover a great speciality coffee that suits your taste and is ethically sourced. A fantastic way to find a new favourite!

On Monday May 26th the Housekeeper’s `keeps things local’ when they’ll be offering tastings of various delicious treats all Made in Cheshire. Delicious samples to pick from range from homemade chutney to “proper” chocolate. Come along, indulge and treat yourself!

And no tasting programme would be complete without Tatton Brewery showing their hoppiest best. On Friday May 30th they’ll be giving visitors the chance to sip scrumptious locally made beer with an expert from the brewery. Beer gift packs – just in time for Father’s Day will be on sale

The Housekeeper’s Store has come along way since its humble beginnings as a freezer full of estate venison at Tatton Park’s gate. Its ethos remains the same; to reflect the highly important role the Housekeeper played in the feeding of the country house’s residents and entertaining of guests and the need to source food from the estate and the local area.

Gillian Herdman, Tatton Park Commercial Development Manager commented “We are very excited to be introducing even more local and regional products in the Housekeeper’s Store. In doing so we’re not only giving our visitors a really fantastic choice of food and drink to buy we’re also supporting our valuable local producers who put real effort into producing something very special right on our doorstep “.

The Housekeeper’s Store is open in high season (March 29th to October 26th) from 11am to 5pm and in low season (October 27th to March 27th) from 12am to 4pm
