Sir Bobby Charlton hosts fundraising dinner to announce launch of pioneering regenerative research programme
The Manchester Busby Babe and England footballing Legend calls for new supporters to join gala dinner for the unveiling of latest humanitarian plans for his charity ‘Find a Better Way’
7th October 2014: Manchester United and England football star, Sir Bobby Charlton, will be joined by hundreds of guests on Thursday 23rd October at The Rosewood, London for a star studded fundraising gala dinner to support new ground-breaking research plans to be announced by his Knutsford based landmine charity, Find A Better Way.
Launched in 2011 by Sir Bobby after a visit to Cambodia through his work as a global soccer ambassador which demonstrated the humanitarian damage which landmines cause in war-torn areas, the charity has evolved over the last three years into a strategic organisation with pioneering aspirations.
The annual dinner at the Holborn hotel will provide the launch pad for a pioneering 20 year humanitarian research programme requiring £100 million support, which aims to provide the re-engineering of biological replacement limbs.
High profile guests including corporate sponsors and supporters such as AIG, AON and XCEL will hear from the charity’s key spokespeople about its latest ambitious fundraising project which sets out to transform the lives of those living with the devastating effects of landmine trauma.
Commenting on the event, Sir Bobby said; “The support for the charity to date has been excellent and we move forward with a passion to build on the great work done so far with a real commitment to changing lives through the charities three key areas, detection, protection and regeneration. The dinner provides us with the opportunity to thank our existing supporters and set the scene for the future where we intend to engage with a host of new supporters to help us realise the goals of this exciting new project.
A number of tables are still available for the gala dinner. For further information, please contact the Find A Better Way fundraising office on 01565 757 793. For further information on the charity and its work, visit the website at www.findabetterway.org.uk
