Makers Market Easter Fun!
Sunday April 5th sees the popular Knutsford Makers Market return! As we leave the chill of Winter behind us you will see that Spring is definitely in the air at our very special Easter themed event.
The firm favourites are back along with some NEW inspiring creatives and fabulous foodies.
In April at the Knutsford Makers Market we will be hosting an exciting Easter bonnet competition! To both our little market visitors and our slightly bigger ones this is your chance to get creative. There are prizes to be won in the following categories: Ages 4-9. Ages 10-15. Ages 16 and above!
Register your interest at the community stall and leave your hat for judging. The award and prize ceremony will be held at 2pm. Good Luck!
In amongst the exciting 130 artisan traders who will be showcasing we are thrilled to be joined by the Red Earth Education. This charity works in a rural district of Uganda where primary education has only been free since 1997. Classes are frequently very large and have as many as 200 children in any one class.
There is extremely limited teaching and learning resources and teachers have virtually no access to new ideas about teaching and learning as there are very rare opportunities for professional development. Art work by the children and local artists in Uganda will be on sale at Knutsford to raise money for their education.
We will also be joined by the Knutsford Promenades! Sarah Flannery, who created the Promenades concept, said: “We’ve spent the previous two years building up the momentum for 2015 in order to establish the Promenades as a key arts and cultural event to benefit the town on many levels”
The date for Knutsford Promenades 2015 has been set for Saturday July 4 2015.
There will be live music performances all day from the wonderful Loose Change buskers. Over the last few years these talented chaps and gals have raised nearly £155,000 for Cancer Research and they really know how to get the crowd going!
The Vintage DJ’s and Swing dancers will also be with us playing the best of swing tunes!
To fully enjoy the flavours and tastes of our award winning food producers. To smell the freshly cooked street food from the fire pits and wood fired pizza ovens. To see the vibrant colours of our creative and inspiring artists. To rummage in the vintage and object d’art. To touch the flowers and the fresh herbs from our talented garden sellers. To hear the music from local bands and performers and to dance amongst it all on Princess Street. Pop down to Knutsford on Easter Sunday for this very exciting family day out.
