Water outage in Knutsford July 2017 | Knutsford Times

Knutsford residents left without water over weekend

By on July 17, 2017

A contractor for United Utilities damaged a water pipe supplying local residents in Knutsford, leaving some without water for over 24 hours.

A United Utilities spokesman said: “A third party contractor has damaged a 400ml water main. It is not causing any flooding as it seems to be contained in a hole but it has resulted in 12 people contacting us to say they have no water. We have four tankers in Knutsford to keep that underground service topped up. In the meantime we will isolate the damaged pipe and start to repair it.”

Repairs began on Friday but some were still left without water on Saturday after the pipes on Rostherne Lane were damaged.

Some residents have also complained of a reduction in water pressure in the area for over a month following a leak on Oakfield Drive.
