Rose launched to celebrate the Mayor of Knutsford

By on July 19, 2017

Fryer’s Roses Garden Centre has launched a new rose on behalf of the former and current Mayor of Knutsford, Councillor Jan Nicholson and Councillor Neil Forbes, to raise money for the Mayor’s Charities.

Described as a “pretty vintage pink floribunda with an antique gold reverse”, the rose has mid green leaves and fragrance, growing to approximately 80cm in height. The rose celebrates the continuity of the Mayoral role, not just in Knutsford, but around the UK.

Fryer’s Roses will donate £1 from the sale of every rose to the Mayor’s Charities including Knutsford Youth Orchestra, Mid Cheshire Riding for the Disabled and Knutsford Friendship Café along with three others from the previous Mayor’s Charities.

Knutsford Town Mayor Councillor Neil Forbes described the rose as a “wonderful gesture” that the charities that he supports will be delighted with. Mid Cheshire Riding for the Disabled, one of the charities that the Mayor supports said that it was a “lovely thing to do” and thanked Fryer’s and Mayor Forbes.
