Royal London keeps 1,200 jobs in Cheshire with Alderley move

By on October 21, 2017

Insurance company Royal London is keeping their business in Cheshire despite concerns that they may be leaving the county entirely.

In a move that will keep 1,200 jobs in the county, staff were informed on Thursday that they will move from their existing Wilmslow site to Alderley Park with room for expansion.

Homes, shops and business units are planned at the Wilmslow site that Royal London are vacating before 2020.

Cheshire East Council leader Rachel Bailey described the move as “excellent news”, going on to praise Royal London for their loyalty to Cheshire East.

AstraZeneca were previously based at Alderley Park but withdrew most staff to a site in Cambridge around four years ago. Since then more than 400 jobs have been created at the site by other companies who have occupied the space.
