Knutsford Scouts need help for £25,000 award to improve scout hut

By on November 3, 2017

The 1st Knutsford Scouts need support to be in with the chance to raise £25,000.

The group is looking to replace their scout hut on The Moor and replace it with new up to date facilities. The works will cost around £160,000 in total and they’re looking to be awarded £25,000 from the Aviva Community Fund scheme, which is voted for by the public.

The plans for the hut include provisions for disabled children, the addition of kitchen and toilet facilities, a large communal hall and a focus on improvements to safely cater for the needs of children.  There will also be an office and training facilities on site to help meet safeguarding requirements as well as offer space for other groups and activities to use.

Project co-ordinator Michelle Hammond said: “The new hall would increase the scope of activities and quality of the development programme that we are able to deliver to young people of Knutsford. We have to build by December 2018 and winning £25,000 would mean we would have enough funds in place to complete the project.”

Voting opened last week until Tuesday 21st November 2017. To vote visit avivacommunityfund.co.uk/voting/project/view/17-2030
