Knutsford in Bloom goes for gold for second time

By on November 10, 2017

Knutsford in Bloom has been awarded a RHS ‘Gold’ medal for the second year running.

After winning the top North West in Bloom in summer, businesses in the town were also recognised by winning ‘best commercial effort’ at the North West in Bloom trophy. Residents were also hailed as outstanding for their work in neighbourhoods.

Yvonne Bancroft, Knutsford in Bloom chairman, said: “The Gold award is not just about flower displays, but also the community doing things together. Knutsford has so many voluntary organisations and all these things do contribute. Planning work has already started for next year’s display, although the Knutsford in Bloom team is taking nothing for granted. It’s all about involving as many people as possible and improving areas. There are always things we are looking at.”

Launched in 2009, Knutsford has been recognised each year by its efforts, last year was the first time that the town has been awarded gold.

Having won the ‘Silver Gilt’ medal for best town each year between 2010 and 2015, Knutsford finally scooped Gold last year before doubling the tally in 2017.
