Provisional £6k for Manor Park School Association

By on November 15, 2017

Knutsford Town Council have provisionally offered a grant of £6,000 to install a new multi-use games area at Manor Park School following approval for the next financial years budget.

Estimated to cost around £34k in total the new surface for the play area to avoid the area from being waterlogged and unusable to most of the year, the funding is being offered on the proviso that the area be accessible to public groups and organisations outside of school hours.

The new surface is estimated to cost around £34,000 in total, with Knutsford Town Council set to contribute £6,000 if the budget is approved for the next financial year as stands.

With the school and surrounding community ‘in desperate need of outdoor sporting facilities’, the funding would come with the agreement that the MUGA be accessible to public groups and organisations outside school hours.

The town council finance committee all agreed to deliver the grant, subject to budget approval.

There is also additional support from other organisations including Great Places Housing Group and Knutsford Scouts. Manor Park School Association is also seeking a grant from the Aviva Community fund which is open to the public vote until 21 November at community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/17-1428.
