No Arriva buses will be running throughout Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

Arriva managing director Phil Stone, said: “We take great pride at Arriva North West that every day thousands of people in the region rely on us to get them to work, take their children to school and connect them with family and friends.

“That’s why we are deeply disappointed that so many passengers will be affected by Monday and Thursday’s strike action next week.

“We remain focused on resuming constructive talks with the unions to find a solution and to end the disruption to our passengers and staff in the run-up to Christmas.”

The unions have also announced strikes will take place on the following days:

  • Thursday December 7,
  • Tuesday December 12,
  • Wednesday December 13,
  • Thursday December 14,
  • Wednesday December 20,
  • Thursday December 21,
  • Friday December 22,
  • Saturday December 23.

 

Arriva customers in Cheshire with pre-paid tickets will be able to use them on Merseyrail and Northern rail networks and Stagecoach Quality Network Routes.
