There is speculation that Michael Jones, former leader of Cheshire East, may resign from the council soon after quitting the Conservative party last week.

The councillor resigned from the party following a vote to expel him from the local group.

He said that he was unhappy with things at Cheshire East, including the ‘huge increase’ in council tax which he struggled to see the justification for. He also expressed concerns about the Cheshire East Conservative group and how this had changed.
