Who are these ‘Revolting Children’
This is the cast of Knutsford Musical Theatre Company’s latest performance – ‘Showstoppers’. They are rehearsing scenes from the smash hit West End Show, ‘Matilda’.
‘Showstoppers’ is a review covering well-known songs from classic musicals such as ‘Oklahoma’ and ‘Anything Goes’ right up to modern day hits, including one which premiered in the West End last year, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. One of KMTC’s youngest members, Toby Abbott, auditioned in London last year for the part of Charlie. Toby says ‘it was a great experience, I learnt a lot from the experience. It was interesting to see some of the other boys were just as nervous as me. ’
The show is proving a challenge for the wardrobe department, as there will be 600 costumes in total, and up to 14 costume changes per cast member. One of the scenes to watch out for is ‘Story of My Life’, from ‘Shrek, The Musical’. The song is performed by a host of fairy tale characters including Pinocchio, The Three Bears and The Big Bad Wolf and promises to be a memorable performance.
KMTC are proud to present Showstoppers at The Grange Theatre, Hartford, from May 22nd – 24th, including a Saturday Matinee. Ticket prices from £8 – £12. Tickets can either be booked online, by going to www.grangetheatre.com, or by phoning the Box Office 0844 8700887.
