Man injured in air rifle shooting.
Cheshire police are appealing for information in connection with an air rifle shooting.
At approx. 11:30am Sunday 11th October 2009, a 55 year old local man was walking around Tabley Mere, Tabley Estate, Tabley, Knutsford when he saw 3 males aged between 14 to 16 years old carrying air riffles. Whilst continuing his walk he felt a sharp pain in his eye which resulted from being shot from a pellet from one of the air rifles.
It would appear that this is no accident, following being injured, the victim saw the three youths quickly running away. The victim who could not get a description of the youths due to being too far away from them, will be having an operation on his injured right eye to treat catarract trauma.
Due to having no lines of enquiry to solve this case, which is extremely serious as the victim could have been blinded, I am appealing for any information into this incident to contact myself at Knutsford Neighbourhood Policing Team on 0845 458 6380 or if you wish to remain anonymous please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
