Never ending work at Knutsford Rubgy Club.
While the ongoing excitement of the Lions touring South Africa no doubt caught the attention of all rugby fans, the guys at Knutsford Rugby Club have been working tirelessly in the background, preparing for the 2009 - 10 season.
Its change all round this year - a new league format, new cup format, new coaching staff and a new captain in 2008 - 9 player of the year Olly Mooney. We have had a lot of change in the background this year, with many of the guys who have served the club so well stepping down, including previous captain Sam Fishburne and Colin Hurrell, president for 5 years and a founder member of the club.
The new cup format has brought an interesting start to the season with 2 derby games in the first 4 weeks against local rivals Holmes Chapel, including the first game of the season on the 29th August!
To help prepare for a crucial season, the club have arranged a pre-season training weekend, which marks the start of our full training programme. This special training weekend starts at 7pm on Friday 17th July, continues at 11am on Saturday 18th July at Egerton Sports Club and includes sessions from former International coaches.
This is a great opportunity to get some excellent coaching, and to get an introduction to the club so please contact Mark Todman 1st_manager@knutsfordrugby.com, 07595 36 72 82 if you would like to get involved with KRFC for an exciting 2009 - 10 season!
